Looking Away Kids T-Shirt

I have looked online extensively to find out WHY these and other sculptures are looking inward. I guess no others are concerned or wondering as I am: WHY are the figures looking away when this gorgeous palace was designed by Bernard Maybeck, and built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exhibition of San Francisco? But it is a beautiful location to enjoy the many wildlife there, and the quiet of the area, and comtemplate the reason of the inward position of the women seen here! Yet another thoughtful memory on this pandemic Day 828.
